Textiles, Textiles and More Textiles

NEW YORK—Westside, Eastside, Chelsea, Midtown. Manhattan was practically covered in textiles during the recent Textile Week, when Texworld USA, Premiere Vision Preview and Kingpins showcased the latest in textiles, trim and sourcing offerings for the apparel community.

In addition to Texworld’s international exhibitor base, visitors to the show got a chance to visit three shows in one. This season, Texworld co-located with two new shows: The Apparel Sourcing Show and Home Textiles Fabric Sourcing, held side-by-side at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Up the street, Kingpins hosted its denim-focused show, featuring an international roster of denim and trim suppliers and contractors, as well as new sponsor Lycra.

At the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building in Chelsea, Premiere Vision Preview New York showcased the latest textile trends from Europe. PV’s Spanish mills also hosted a cocktail reception on the city’s Eastside to highlight the annual Textiles From Spain exhibition. The event featured textile displays, wine and tapas (and maybe a little crowing about Spain’s recent World Cup victory).
