More Swim at CurveNV
CurvExpo, which produces the lingerie and swimwear trade shows CurveNY in New York and CurveNV in Las Vegas, plans to expand the swimwear components of both shows.
The new program dedicated to swimwear brands is called “Las Vegas Swim Fashion Week” and will bow during the Aug. 16–18 edition of the CurveNV show in Las Vegas. The New York edition, “New York Swim Fashion Week,” will launch next year during the August 2011 run of CurveNY in New York.
CurvExpo’s August editions have always offered swimwear, but expanding deeper into the category came at the request of the retailers attending the shows. According to CurvExpo Executive Vice President Laurence Teinturier, 40 percent of lingerie stores also sell swimwear.
During CurveNV’s Las Vegas Swim Fashion Week, more than 60 swimwear brands will exhibit in a space separate from the lingerie brands. There will be a special schedule of events focused on swimwear buyers and a seminar educating retailers how to boost sales, and Group Carlin International will highlight key Spring/Summer trends featuring exhibiting swimwear brands in an installation display. After the trade show, there will be a party hosted by Perry Ellis International on Aug. 16, and a “So Curve, So Swim” fashion show at MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Paris on Aug. 17. Exhibiting brands include L*Space, Luli Fama, Lenny, Salinas, Perry Ellis, Vitamin A, Shan, Andres Sarda, Huit Plage and Marlies Dekkers Swimwear.—Rhea Cortado
