Nike+Heart

Beaverton, Ore.–based Nike Inc. has a new addition to its Nike+iPod Sport Kit and its Nike+SportBand. The new Polar WearLink works with Nike+ to monitor a runner’s heart rate during training and exercise. Worn around the chest, WearLink transmits the wearer’s heart rate wirelessly to the Nike+ equipment. Used with Nike+SportBand, the WearLink will transmit visual information about the heart rate to the user. With the Nike+iPod, users can listen to spoken information about their heart rate during the workout. Heart-rate information can be transferred to the Nike+ website (www.nikeplus.com), where the user can track heart-rate information over time. The WearLink also works with other Polar-compatible equipment. Polar USA is based in Lake Success, N.Y.
