L.A. Vintage Exchange Unites Vintage Lovers With Its Studio's Siren Call

The lovely L.A. Vintage Exchange studio

When shopping for vintage, you appreciate sellers who give the care that a unique gem deserves, and anyone who's rifled through a cardboard box hoping to come up with a winner knows that may not always be the case.

L.A. Vintage Exchange founder and proprietress Courtney Lowe is dedicated to finding unique vintage pieces that walk that fine line between trendy and timeless.

Her carefully curated selections are housed at her by-appointment home studio, located at 1424 Carmona Ave. in the Pico/Fairfax neighborhood of Los Angeles. L.A. Vintage Exchange’s archive is open to stylists as well as costumer designers.

Lowe aims for a personal touch with each piece, and her collection reflects California’s effortless, laidback style, which can also be shopped for worldwide via her Etsy store.

On Sat. June 12, Lowe teamed up with fashion blog Refinery29 and opened up her studio to host a summer sale featuring racks of editor’s picks, which included breezy button-down silk tops, leather skirts and plenty of prints—leopard, polka dots and florals to name a few. Any vintage enthusiast worth her salt would die to get her hands on any of Lowe’s covetable collection of goods—and many seized the opportunity to shop, share styling tips and sip champagne for a girly afternoon of fun.

The afternoon soiree was also an opportunity to shop Lowe’s latest collection of hand-dyed blazers, cropped tanks and dresses—all born from original vintage pieces. Lowe’s work produces truly one-of-kind finds that have a spectacular tie-dye effect.
