Focus on Swim at ASR

The Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo and Class@ASR will put a finer focus on swimwear during their Aug. 13–15 run at the San Diego Convention Center. Together, the two trade shows will feature more than 150 swim brands, ranging from designer lines and international brands to swim brands rooted in the surf and action-sports industry. A new designated swim area, La Plage, will also be created to give the swim industry a dedicated space on the show floor, complete with its own DJ, lounges and girly touches.

“Swim is a diverse, exciting and growing segment of the market for both specialty and boutique retailers,” said Andy Tompkins, vice president of ASR, in a statement. “With an increased focus on the swim category on both the ASR Marketplace and Class@ASR floors, buyers will have a convenient and inspiring experience shopping Spring swim lines. In addition, the variety of swim product on the runway stage throughout the show will provide hundreds of media outlets with a targeted look at future trends in the swim category.” The La Plage area will also host ASR’s fashion show, which showcases select women’s styles from exhibitors.

On the show floor, buyers will find designer brands such as Red Carter, Cia Mariacute;shy;tima, Nanette Lepore, Vix, Onda de Mar and Trina Turk alongside core brands such as O’Neill, Fox, Volcom, Billabong, Roxy, Fox, Insight, Reef and Rip Curl.—Erin Barajas
