Saks Fifth Avenue announced it would be closing its 33,000-square-foot department store in Charleston, S.C., on July 17. But the space won’t be vacant for long. Los Angeles fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 is planning to occupy the department-store-size space in Majestic Square by the end of this year. In July, Saks is also closing its San Diego store and another outlet in Portland, Ore.
