Barney Would Love It Here
The color gods have spoken and decided that purple is one of the vibrant hues we'll all be wearing this spring, along with amparo blue, tomato puree and pink champagne.
And guess what? Somebody was llistening when the Pantone trend predictors spoke. Kmart is stocking its stores with an abundance of violiet and lilac tones that will be splashed across dresses, handbags, swimwear and hats. You can even pick up a purple vaccum cleaner, if you so desire.
"Purple represents a romantic, classic hue that brings a breath of fresh air to any outfit or room," said Theresa Strickland, chief home, design and branding officer for Sears Holding, the parent company of Kmart.
Purple is the color of royalty and wealth. It's also the color chosen by the creators of Barney, the cute Tyrannosaurus Rex who has been on children's TV since 1992. Has Barney been introduced to "The Purple People Eater" song yet? Just a thought.
