Haiti Help

President Barack Obama on May 24 signed into law a bill that would extend duty-free benefits for some knit and woven products made in Haiti in an effort to help that earthquake-torn country. The Haiti Economic Lift Program Act (HELP) will extend the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act and the Haitian Hemispheric Opportunity through Partnership Engagement Act (HOPE) until Sept. 30, 2020. The move was endorsed by several apparel trade groups, including the American Apparel & Footwear Association.
