Forever 21 Opens Fashion Island Emporium

Los Angeles–based Forever 21 continues to open big stores at a quick pace.

Fashion Island is scheduled to debut an emporium-sized Forever 21 on Nov. 20, according to a statement from the Newport Beach, Calif., luxury mall, which is owned by The Irvine Co.

The new Forever 21 store is in a 36,307-square-foot location in the mall’s former Circuit City space, in the mall’s Pacific Court wing. Forever 21 has maintained a presence at Fashion Island since 2003. But the previous store was housed in a 10,000-square-foot space, now relatively modest by Forever 21’s standards.

On Nov. 26, a 25,000-square-foot Forever 21 store opens at Northridge Fashion Center, which is owned by General Growth Properties. The two-level Forever 21 will be located near the mall’s Sears store, according to a statement from the mall, located 40 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles.

In July, a 126,000-square-foot Forever 21 store opened at the Fashion Show mall in Las Vegas. And the retailer is opening stores on some of America’s top retail streets, including a store on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, which opened in September, and a new store scheduled to open on Newbury Street in Boston.—Andrew Asch
