L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2011: Bryan Hearns

Designer Bryan Hearns, born and bred in Southern California but now living in New York, took a look at Spring/Summer 2011 and decided it should be painted in earth tones.

His collection of pants, skirts and tops was dominated by beige, white and brown creations with an occasional nod to the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean.

Hearns showedhis line on Oct. 17 at Concept Fashion Week at the Spring Arts Tower in downtown Los Angeles.

His mini-skirts with uneven hems brushed up against thighs, and his pants had high waists and narrow legs.

Hearns favored mid-riff tops cut in triangular shapes that floated down the catwalk. A bit of whimsy appeared in his collection with white T-shirts with black lettering that said: “Born Equal?” or “Born Free?” They were worn with deep-blue silk culottes or narrow pants.—Deborah Belgum
