L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2011: F2 Focus

The California Market Center presented F2, a runway show featuring the designs of select designers from the Focus Apparel & Accessories trade show floor. Held in the CMC’s penthouse on Oct. 16, the show included Spring 2011 styles from Island Edge, House of Rossil, Mu Dan, Rebekah McKinney and Simoneh Clothing.

Focus—which acts as a showcase for contemporary emerging, indie and artist-driven brands—didn’t send a single trend down the runway but rather presented each brand’s unique take on Spring 2011.

Island Edge showed plenty of hibiscus prints paired with unlikely and intricate silhouettes. Mu Dan showed minimalist knit dresses with body-conscious details. Rebekah McKinney showed classic workwear separates—pencil skirts, tailored blouses and sheath dresses—with a twist. Simoneh Clothing had parties in mind, drawing upon lingerie and modern shapes for inspiration. House of Rossil showed spare dresses, kimonos and tunics covered in ethnic-inspired prints.—Erin Barajas
