La Perla's ShapeCouture Makes Shapewear Pretty
Leave it to La Perla to make shapewear so beautiful that you forget the term is usually associated with body stockings that feel like sausage casings.
As opposed to the tubular knit that follows in the footsteps of Spanx, La Perla’s ShapeCouture has a bandage-meets-tailored motif with transparent tulle inserts and cut-outs. The effect is a sexy garter belt that I see most aspiring dommes building their outfits around to show off and a slip that will probably just be worn out as a dress, period.
Though nothing can be more fierce than the “sensual black” shown here, it will also be available in “boiling hot red” and “sophisticated nude.” Pieces from the line were unveiled at the Mode City Lingerie show in Paris on Sept. 4 at the Invista booth (makers of Lycra that engineered the mega stretch and control factor). The line hits stores in Spring 2011.
