Texworld Partners With Stylesight, Trend Forecaster Wins Copyright Dispute

Stylesight and Texworld USA are teaming up to provide a curated trend display and trend seminar series at the Jan. 18–20 run of Texworld USA at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

Following the show, the two companies are planning to expand the partnership to include “innovative digital services” for Texworld USA exhibitors.

“We look forward to facilitating year-round contact between our exhibitors and attendees by means of a Creative Platform in partnership with Stylesight,” said David Audrain, president and chief executive officer of Messe Frankfurt North America, producers of Texworld USA.

Texworld USA exhibitors will have access to Stylesight’s library of more than 6 million images, including international runway collections, events and trends, as well as industry analysis. The Creative Platform will also feature a marketplace with online showrooms and company profiles.

“The partnership is cutting edge for the trade show world and only the beginning of the innovative approaches that we intend to introduce by combining the physical world of trade shows and the digital world of Stylesight,” said Frank Bober, founder and chief executive officer of Stylesight.

In October, New York–based Stylesight won a copyright-infringement case against Guangzhou Maxtile Industry Co. Ltd. and Guangzhou Maxtile Textile Design Center, both based in China.

China’s court in Guangzhou ordered Maxtile to refrain from using Stylesight’s copyrighted works, which include 690 images and eight reports on two websites (www.maxtile.com and www.myttaii.com). According to Stylesight, Maxtile will provide financial compensation and the company issued a public apology, printed in the Southern Metropolis Daily in November.—Alison A. Nieder
