SATO's TG3 Printer Makes Markdowns More Attractive
Barcode and RFID provider SATO has introduced a new series of printers designed to help retailers tag and label their inventory without sacrificing brand awareness.
Tags produced by TG3 Series can include the company’s brand name, logo, tagline and website, as well as product information such as price, price markdowns, SKU, product origin, size and style information.
According to Gary Krause, SATO America’s director of marketing, the printers will make in-house markdowns and in-store promotions easier, more accurate and more attractive.
“Nearly 40 percent of retailers now facilitate their markdown needs manually with handwritten markings, and some dedicate sales-floor staff to this task,” he said. “Manual markings are not a visually pleasing procedure. They diminish the store’s branding and increase the potential for employee mistakes and loss in profitability. SATO’s new TG3 Series will help retailers enhance the customer experience and allow for accurate inventory management, sales accuracy and improved employee productivity.”
Tags are easily loaded into the printer, which feature sensors to automatically calibrate reflective markings for proper print registration. Available in both direct and thermal-transfer models, the printers can print hangtags and price tickets, as well as shelf labels and bag tagging.
The printers print up to 10 inches per second and can handle tags up to 0.33-m.m. thick.
The TG3 Series has LCD displays and a variety of plug-in interface cards. The printers have an automated print-cut-stack function for fast batch printing as well as stand-alone printing using a keypad.
Founded in 1940, Tokyo-based SATO makes integrated automating identification and data-collection solutions based on barcode and RFID technologies. SATO America is based in Charlotte, N.C.
