Givenchy + Jay Z + Kanye = 3
News broke yesterday that Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy's creative director, designed the cover art for 'Watch the Throne," the new album from Kanye and Jay Z. That's pretty cool. And it makes sense, when you think about it. These are two dudes whose love affair with fashion is chronicled in their lyrics and their stage shows. Kanye went so far as wear a Celine blouse for his Coachella performance this year. That's love.
But who knew Riccardo was such a fan of the hip hop? It turns out Tisci also designed the cover art for "H.A.M" - the first single from the record. But not everyone was a fan. Apparently, some thought it was a knock-off of a Sage Francis record. I guess that's just more proof that fashion and music really do go hand-in-hand.
Meh. We don't see it.
