What Goes Around Comes Around Opens on La Brea

Last night, What Goes Around Comes Around toasted its new retail store on La Brea. Actress Jamie Chung and George Kotsiopoulos of E!’s “Fashion Police” worked the room as hosts of the event.

Browsing the racks at What Goes Around Comes Around, its private label of new, vintage-inspired sequin blouses and gypsy dresses seamlessly merchandises with random, authentically-vintage delights from unrecognizable labels as well as Levi’s, Chloé and Missoni.

In the special back room there are stunning evening gowns and fur stoles. In another cubby you see knee-length leather moccasins and campy fringed jackets. Co-host of the party, George Kotsiopoulos added that that’s what’s “fun” about the store—it has both the classy and outrageous.

On E!’s Fashion Police show, if Joan Rivers is the Simon Cowell, then George is sort of like the Randy Jackson. Criticism falls between marshmallow padded and gratuitously snide. And even off camera he can’t help but offer style advice. Jamie sighed that she could never pull off one of the loud, vintage Hawaiian print muumuus sized for someone triple her frame. Putting an Alaia belt on it will make anything look fabulous, George quipped.

What Goes Around Comes Around moved from its previous location next to Space 15Twenty. It's new home is across the street from like-minded retailer American Rag. So now Angelenos can get a vintage cocktail dress at WGACA and then jaywalk across the street for a denim fix at American Rag, or vice versa.

It steps right up to the line of too far into Burning Man strangeness and then stops. Still in the fashion world.
