Dig It: Stella McCartney Finds Fashion Influence From Within

When Linda McCartney started shooting candid photos of her family back in the late 1960s, she probably had no idea then that husband Paul wouldn't be the only world famous face to appear in that collection of images.
In the just released book Linda McCartney: Life in Photographs, a very young, pre-fame Stella McCartney shares the spotlight with her parents and three siblings, including older sister Mary, who is also a photographer.
"I think for me, dad and Mary, it was really a case of breathing new life into Mum's work and making people aware of how inspirational and contemporary it was -- it certainly inspired my work," Stella recently told W about the new 288-page showcase of prints that were selected from an archive of over 200,000 images.
The late McCartney matriarch's rare behind-the-scenes look at life with a Beatle encompasses great rock photography balanced with the quieter moments the couple spent out of the limelight while raising a family in the late 1960s and '70s. The eclectic collection not only led Tashen to release the book in multiple editions, including a limited series signed by Macca, but also inspired Stella to pay homage by featuring one of her mother's photographs on a T-shirt in her pre-fall 2010 collection earlier this year.
