What would fashion be without the photographers to chronicle the walk down the runway for the photo shoots?
For those who appreciate a good photographer behind the lens, this exhibit is for you.
On May 21, the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City opens its six-month run of Beauty CULTure, a photographic exploration of fashion and beauty as seen in more than 170 photos taken by some of the best fashion and beauty photographers in the 20th and 21st century. Works can be seen from iconic photographers such as Albert Watson, Bert Stern, Herb Ritts, Man Ray, Ellen von Unwerth, Lillian Bassman and Susan Anderson.
In addition to the photos, there is a short documentary film directed by photographer and documentarian Lauren Greenfield, featuring interviews with well-known artists. There are also free weekly lectures on Thursdays by photographers about their works.
The exhibition, at 2000 Avenue of the Stars #10, is open from Wednesdays through Sundays and is free to the public. For more information, call (213) 403- 3000 or check out the website for the Annenberg Space for Photography.
