Eurovet Acquires CurveExpo Lingerie Show

Eurovet, a leading French organizer of lingerie and fabric shows, has acquired 100 percent of CurveExpo, the New York company that puts on four lingerie shows a year in the United States.

CurveExpo was founded in 2007 by Jean-Luc and Laurence Teinturier, who saw a gap in the lingerie and swimwear trade show market in the United States. They launched CurveNV in Las Vegas and CurveNY in New York. Each show is held twice a year. Those two shows have grown 20 percent every year, according to CurveExpo organizers.Eurovet did not reveal the price it paid for the trade show. It already owned a 30 percent interest in CurveExpo, which it acquired in November 2008.

Jean-Luc and Laurence Teinturier will continue to manage CurveExpo as co-presidents. Eurovet said it will be naming a vice president for CurveExpo at a later date.

Eurovet’s ownership is expected to help the New York–based trade show company expand beyond the United States.

“The acquisition of CurveExpo is consistent withEurovet’s overall strategy to be the reference partner worldwide dedicated to the lingerie and swimwear industry, offering to the international brands the best platform for their international development,” said Marie-Laure Bellon-Homps, chief executive of Eurovet.

Eurovet runs 16 textile and fashion-related fairs. Seven of those fairs are dedicated to lingerie and swimwear. Eurovet’s big shows include Salon International de la Lingerie, Mode City and Interfilière the Fabric and Trimmings Show, which take place in Paris.—Deborah Belgum
