The infamous LiLo is back in the news – only this time for something positive. The notorious redhead has taken on the role of the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime television movie chronicling the life of Taylor and her former husband Richard Burton, titled “Liz Dick.”

The first production pics have surfaced, showing Lohan sporting a vintage swimsuit from Leann Wright of San Francisco’s Static Vintage.

Wright gave us the lowdown on LiLo’s fabulous swimwear, which was snatched up by the movie’s costume designer, Salvatore Perez, while Wright was showing at the Santa Monica Vintage Expo in May.

Perez asked Wright for swimsuits from the ’50s and ’60s, and bought several, including a blue Hawaiian two-piece 50's bikini, a mint-green two-piece bikini, a coral ’60s swim ensemble with matching wrap skirt, a black plunging-neck one piece ’60s suit with gold buckle detailing, a red plaid ’60s bikini, a brown paisley Rose Marie Reed one piece, and of course, the famed leopard print Cole of California swimsuit that Lindsay has been photographed in.

“The exciting thing about this sale was I had just pulled these particular swimsuits from my private collection,” Wright said. “Many of them had been mine, or I had used them and the swim caps in photo shoots that I had styled in the ’90s. I was wavering on selling some of them because I liked them so much, so it was great timing for the costumer to come along when he did.”

Perez also bought two ’60s Hawaiian men’s swim trunks, along with several colorful swim caps, two ’60s Kelly-style handbags, a berry red cocktail dress and coat set, and a sheer pink polka dot chiffon dress.

Perez told Wright he was shopping for “Liz Dick,” but often, Wright doesn’t know that her clothes are being used in a production unless she happens to see them onscreen.

“I’ve had my items in movies before, but most of the time it’s a costume house that is buying from me and then I don’t know which movies they will be in and I just end up seeing them and recognizing them,” she said.

When she saw photos of Lindsay in the $125 leopard print suit, she was delighted.

“I’m thrilled to be seeing my collection in photos already, it’s like they get to go out and have fun again,” Wright said.
