COLLABS
Shakedown: Street
File this under collabs we didn’t see coming—but we should have. The Hundreds x Grateful Dead collection.
Two brands known for iconic—sometimes sardonic—imagery are now available in one collection.
The Hundreds co-founder Bobby Hundreds pretty much sums it up: “A timeless American brand, rife with legacy and cultural history, amassing a devout niche following by encouraging grassroots awareness and community. We could be talking about The Hundreds, but we could also be referencing the Grateful Dead.
Hundreds draws more comparisons between his streetwear brand and the Grateful Dead—noting the classic rock band’s ability to social network before there was such a thing, and its support of live taping and sharing.
Blending The Hundred’s bomb graphic with the Dead’s dancing bears and Steal Your Face imagery is pretty genius. The capsule collection includes T-shirts, denim jackets, caps, tie-dyed kicks and stickers (of course).
To kick off the collaboration, the company opened a The Hundreds X Grateful Dead pop-up shop at The Hundreds store in San Francisco on April 20—and announced it in a Happy 4/20 Day blog post—in case you still don’t see what these two things have in common.
There’s still time to check out the pop-up shop. It’ll stay open until April 28.
