Urban Outfitters Opening Soon in Downtown LA

We've been watching the construction for how long? Maybe eight months.

In May, Urban Outfitters announced they would be living up to their name. They planned to open a store in the heart of urban, downtown Los Angeles in the 100-year-old Rialto Theatre, which has been shuttered for some time.

Well, opening day is soon. On Dec. 19 to be exact.

Right now, the doors are still shuttered, but today the Urban Outfitters crew started hauling in merchandise to start filling those hand-crafted shelves and clothe those white mannequins lined up like good little soldiers near the front window.

The space is huge, about 10,000 square feet, with open ceilings and lots of wood beams. The exterior looks fantastic. The retailer revived the theater's neon sign and restored the facade to a light grey with white trim.

Can't wait to see the finished project, just in time for Christmas shopping.
