Guess to Offer Ship-to-Store Fulfillment

Los Angeles–based Guess Inc. struck a deal with Boynton Beach, Fla.–based VendorNet for “cross-channel fulfillment.”

VendorNet, a subsidiary of eBay Inc. division GSI Commerce, will help the denim lifestyle brand “implement omnichannel capabilities” using the StoreNet technology. When the technology is fully implemented in the second quarter of 2013, Guess will be able to provide customers with a ship-from-store option at more than 500 Guess stores nationwide.

StoreNet allows brands to offer store inventory, including clearance items, to its online customers. More than 200 retailers—including Nine West, Neiman Marcus, David’s Bridal, Rue La La, Saks Fifth Avenue and Liz Claiborne—use VendorNet’s Web-based, omniretailing and supply-chain solutions.

“VendorNet’s ability to intelligently distribute orders to the best fulfillment location, based on criteria that we define, was a key factor in our selection process,” said Michael Relich, executive vice president and chief information officer at Guess, in a company statement. “StoreNet will allow us to optimize our inventory, regardless of where it physically resides, and better serve our customers.” — Alison A.
