TRADE SHOW

Coast Prepares for New York Launch

Contemporary trade show Coast is preparing to debut its New York edition Sept. 16–17 at Stage 37 on Manhattan’s West Side.

Coast President Karen Bennett founded the show in 2006 in Miami to cater to high-end specialty and department stores looking for new resources and immediate goods. The show typically features more than 250 collections including Milly, Trina Turk, Robert Rodriguez, J Brand, Vince, Mara Hoffman and Citizens of Humanity, as well as showrooms such as L’Atelier Group, Hotline Showroom, Simon Showroom, Joey Showroom, Lily Kate Showroom, Community Service, The Globe Showroom, 10 Eleven and Hatch.

“A New York show was always a goal of mine,” Bennett said. “When the opportunity to build a platform that would showcase not only established designers but also young and emerging lines [arose], I started Coast New York. Retailers are looking for an intimate environment where they can shop for new trends, locally made as well as made in the USA. Coast has been able to create a good and balanced venue that allows the emerging and established designer to be seen at the same time without overwhelming the buyer.”

The New York Coast show joins a roster that includes Chicago and Miami.
