EXECUTIVE MOVES

St. John Gets New CEO

Only days after announcing its chief executive was leaving to return to New York, St. John womenswear company said it has hired Geoffroy van Raemdonck as its new CEO.

The hire was made by St. John’s new chairman, Bernd Beetz.

“Geoffroy has an unparalleled understanding of global wholesale and retail that will be integral as we move into the next phase of the company’s history,” Beetz said. “He is an excellent leader to drive the executive team and to continue to strengthen and grow the business worldwide.”

Van Raemdonck comes from Louis Vuitton, where he was president, South Europe, based in Milan. Previously, he was acting president at Louis Vuitton’s North American division.

On July 16, the board of directors at St. John, headquartered in Irvine, Calif., announced Glenn McMahon would be leaving at the end of July after six years with the company. Shortly after, the board announced that Beetz, the chief executive of Coty Inc. for 11 years until 2012, would be the company’s new chairman.
