Sag-Ban on the Boardwalk
Sagging pants are back in the news again! You can thank the New Jersey beach (aka The Shore) town of Wildwood for the latest news bump.
If you’re planning to visit Wildwood, best pack a belt. The city banned sagging pants starting today. The rule is if the pants fall more than 3 inches below the hip, you’re banned from the boardwalk. It doesn’t matter if you’re flashing skin or skivvies, you’re out.
Get set for plenty of stories--full of lots of bum and butt puns, no doubt--about "the new trend.” Do take note of the Danny Cinch photo above of the late Tupac Shakur, the iconic and best-selling rapper who died in 1996. The photo is from a Bossip photo gallery of celebs in sagging pants—including images from this century.
Fortunately, the sag-ban hasn’t spread from the beach to the slopes, where you can still sag with impunity (brr!).
