Body Glove Co-Founder Bob Meistrell, 84
Bob Meistrell, who co-founded Body Glove International with his brother, Bill, died on June 16 of a heart attack. He was 84.
Born in the Midwest, the brothers moved to Southern California as teens. The identical twins became partners in Redondo Beach, Calif.–based Morgan’s Dive N’ Surf shop in 1959 and then launched Body Glove in 1965, growing the company into a $200 million swim, surf and apparel lifestyle brand.
Meistrell is survived by his wife, Patty; sons Robbie, Ronnie and Randy; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bill Meistrell died in 2006.
