PGA Tour Superstores Open in California

Roswell, Ga.–based golf emporium PGA Tour Superstore opened its first California in East Palo Alto in May and plans to open two additional stores in the state in Irvine and in Palm Desert this fall.

The 50,000-square-foot Irvine store will be located at the Alton Marketplace Shopping Center. The Palm Desert store will open in a 50,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Mervyn’s.

PGA Tour Superstores are the exclusive, off-course, off-airport retail partner of the PGA Tour. The stores carry a mix of golf equipment, men’s and women’s apparel, and shoes from brands such as Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Nike, Cobra-Puma, Adidas, Cleveland, Srixon, Adams, Mizuno, FootJoy, Bridgestone, Ecco, PGA Tour and Under Armour. In addition, the stores offer services such as golf lessons, seminars, and club making and repair and feature performance-practice bays with swing analysis, swing simulators and putting greens. Some locations also feature full-size tennis courts and offer tennis lessons and clinics.

When Irvine and Palm Desert open, the chain will operate 18 stores. The PGA Tour Superstore is owned by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, the retired co-founder of Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons.
