TRADE SHOWS

Outdoor Retailer, ISS and GlobalShop for Sale?

Nielsen Holdings NV, parent company of several apparel trade shows, has enlisted the help of Credit Suisse Group AG to sell its $183 million trade show division, Nielsen Expositions.

The division includes the biannual Outdoor Retailer trade show, which hosts a Summer and a Winter market in Salt Lake City for the outdoor and active apparel, accessories and hard goods markets, and is part of a sports unit that also includes bicycle trade show Interbike. Nielsen also owns the Imprinted Sportswear Show (ISS), covering the decorated-apparel industry, and ASD, a general merchandise show covering everything from accessories and gifts to home décor and toys. There is also a large interior-design unit, which includes GlobalShop, the annual trade show for retail store design and visual merchandising, and several jewelry trade shows.
