The Way We Wore of LA Launches Online Shopping Site

Now that Doris Raymond, the owner of The Way We Wore vintage boutique on La Brea Boulevard, has national exposure through her TV show "L.A. Frock Stars," she is taking to the Internet.

Items from her vintage boutique can now be purchased on AHAlife.com. The digital storefront features items seen on her docu-series show broadcast on the Smithsonian Channel. The show , which debuted on March 7, revolves around Raymond, her staff, her clients and her store.

"These are pieces that have come from my private collection, and I'm happy to make them available," Raymond said.

Items that can be purchased include a Nolan Miller flame gown worn by singer Gladys Knight. The cost: $3,800. Or there is a Moschino Kiss My Patch dress, circa 1988, for $3,500.

For years, Doris Raymond has been a center piece in the Los Angeles vintage fashion scene. Her extensive collection has been a go-to place for designers who wanted to study the construction of iconic fashion items.

Entertainment artist Dita von Teese has been known to drop by in search of a unique frock. And the costume designer for the TV show "Glee," has been there to hunt for the show's wardrobe.

Raymond started collecting when she lived in San Francisco, but years ago moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the fashion and entertainment industry. Now she is enmeshed in both.
