The new Chip & Pepper California jeans

Those wacky identical twins are at it again.

Chip and Pepper Foster, the L.A. apparel guys known for shaking up the denim world with their high-energy personalities that will leave you exhausted, have struck up a deal with Belk to provide the North Carolina-based department store chain with a line of denim called Chip & Pepper California. It will be carried in 100 stores.

About three years ago, the twins, who seemed almost inseparable when it came to making premium denim under their Chip & Pepper label, started concentrating more on licensing deals and working with retailers than promoting their own brand.

The Chip & Pepper California jeans will retail for $68 with some styles going up to $78. There will also be T-shirts for $38. Belk will introduce more styles for Spring 2014.

As part of the promotion, Chip and Pepper will take their denim on tour in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Nashville, Tenn., later this month. They will be helping customers find the perfect fit.

I hope the South is prepared for the arrival of the twins.
