Gap Explores Asia

On Friday, Gap Inc., by venturing into Taiwan and opening its first flagship store in Taipei, the capital.

This is Gap's first of many stores that it will be opening in the area. It has plans to debut 30 stores across China, and add two more in Taiwan.

The Taipei flagship is three stories high and located in the ATT4FUN mall where it is selling clothing for men, women and children.

Jeff Kirwan, president of Gap Inc. in greater China, said the San Francisco-based retailer's stores are proving to be very popular among Asian customers and the company hopes to have many more stores in the Chinese region in the near future.
