French technology solutions and equipment supplier Lectra has named Chris Nicolaes managing director for Lectra Germany in Ismaning, Germany.

Nicolaes will oversee Lectra’s activities in Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia and the other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazahkstan, Kyrgystan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

“Our customers in these markets are undergoing far-reaching structural changes,” said Lectra Chief Executive Officer Daniel Harari. “Thanks to its worldwide network, Lectra understands the mechanisms of these changes and goes far beyond providing just a technology. We can help our customers to enhance their entire business processes, especially in fashion. Chris’ experience as a managing director of software and PLM [product lifecycle management] companies in different sectors and countries will help us to further extend our market position.”

A Netherlands native, Nicolaes is the founder of several information technology companies, including JJM Germany, a distributor of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which Nicolaes sold to Marcam. He also served as director for Central and Eastern Europe at PLM developer Dassault Systèmes.
