Gap Joins Forces With Ellen DeGeneres on New Line

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres is coming out with a new line called ED that will be a collection for apparel, home decor items and accessories.

At the same time Gap will be carrying a kids-sized version called GapKids x ED. The apparel collection is part of a social movement designed to help all girls realize they have the power to do extraordinary things.

The collection will be in all GapKids stores starting Aug. 17 and also on Gap.com. in time for the back-to-school season.

"I am thrilled that my lifestyle brand, ED, is partnering with Gap to encourage young girls to pursue their passion, whether it's math, science, sports, the arts," DeGeneres said. "Following my passion allowed me to be exactly who I am today– a talk show host with a vibrant side business as a party mime."

DeGeneres revealed last October she was working on an apparel and home decor collection that debuts this June on EDbyEllen.com. DeGeneres is known for her love of architecture and design, used in the number of fabulous houses in the Los Angeles area she has bought, re-decorated and sold.

The comedian has said when the Ellen DeGeneres Show, a talk show on NBC, wraps up some day, she wants to devote herself full time to design and her new collection.
