Kitson Closing Sale Ends Soon

There's not much time left for those who want to snap up a memory at the Kitson stores.

Word out is that the liquidation sale going on at Kitson's 14 stores in California, Oregon and Nevada will wrap up as early as Jan. 18. Goods that were 30 percent off are now reduced to 70 percent off.

The people in charge of the fire sale are big-time liquidators Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources. If you don't need an extra T-shirt or trendy sweatshirt, they say they are also selling all the store fixtures, furniture and equipment.

Kitson was founded in 2000 by Fraser Ross, whose first store on Robertson Boulevard turned into a star-studded hangout.

It also developed a reputation as a place where celebrities would get photographed by paparazzi. Brands that have been sold at Kitson include True Religion, Wildfox Couture and Brian Lichtenberg. In the past few years, the stores increasingly focused on high-end pop-culture gifts.
