Bike Share Program Coming to Fashion District

Starting on July 7, a new bicycle-share program will hit the roads in downtown Los Angeles.

This plan has about 1,000 bikes and 65 bike stations dotting the downtown area, from Chinatown to the Arts District to Staples Center and, of course, the Fashion District.

Right now, a bike station is going up right next to the Cooper Design Space at 860 S. Los Angeles St.

The way the program works is, you can pick up a bike at one station and drop it off at another to get around town. The cost is $3.50 for the first 30 minutes and then $3.50 for the next 30 minutes. You have to use a TAP card. Monthly and yearly passes are available.

The bicycle program is being organized by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and operated by Bicycle Transit Systems. For more information on the program and pricing, click here.
