Kevan Hall's Fashion at the White House

The biggest red-carpet event of the year is always at the Academy Awards show in Hollywood.

But another big red-carpet event, which doesn't happen as frequently, are the official State Dinners held at the White House.

The most recent dinner, on March 10 for newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, was a true fashion event.

While First Lady Michelle Obama was wearing a Jason Wu creation, other attendees wowed the crowd with their elegant looks. One of those was actress Sandra Oh, who stars in the TV show "Grey's Anatomy." She was wearing a butterfly print silk gazar crop top and a jade silk faille high-waisted gala skirt in turquoise created by Los Angeles designer Kevan Hall.

In the past, Michelle Obama has worn a gown by Los Angeles designer Tadashi Shoji when the Japanese head of state was invited to dine.
