Hustler Hollywood Opening in Hollywood

This is no joke.

Hustler Hollywood will be opening a new store on Hollywood Boulevard on April 1, April Fool's Day.

The store at 6540 Hollywood Blvd., will carry a selection of toys, sportswear, clothing, lingerie, shoes and Hollywood-centric souvenirs will fill the void left by Frederick's of Hollywood's flagship store that also was on Hollywood Boulevard but closed last year.

Hustler Hollywood is a growing retail chain that has nearly 20 stores in such out-of-the-way places as Bakersfield and West Covina, Calif., Monroe, Ohio and Oklahoma City as well as more urban-centric spots such as Las Vegas.

A big splash of a grand opening is scheduled for April 9, when Hustler founder Larry Flynt will be on hand with pornstar Alexis Texas.

The first Hustler Hollywood store opened in 1998 on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. It is still there, shining brightly with a slew of florescent lights. Even though Flynt sold the property last year for $18.3 million to New York firm VE Equities, and reports were that a fancy Arts Club would be part of a new development, the Sunset Boulevard store is to remain open until further notice.
