FIDM Students Create Visual Displays at 99 Cents Only Store

These visual displays may have cost a bit more than 99 Cents but all the items came from the store that is known for its bargain-basement prices.

99 Cents Only asked visual design students at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in downtown LA to create four, one-in-a-kind fashion-inspired displays for its store at 11040 W Pico Blvd. in West Los Angeles. They will be on display until Sept. 22.

Each group selected a theme at random based on the departments in the store. The themes included household supplies, Halloween products, food packaging and party supplies.

Of course, this isn't about designing displays. It's about winning a contest.

Anyone can vote for their favorite design by following three steps:

Visit the 99 Cents Only store in West Los Angeles, take a picture of your favorite design and then post the picture to your Instagram or Facebook page using these designated hashtags: #99Petals (Household Items), #99Nightmares (Halloween),

No stuffing the ballot boxes.
