TRADE SHOW

Buyers Make Smart Choices at OFFPRICE

OFFPRICE by Informa, held Aug. 10–12 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, offered margin-building collections for women’s, men’s and kids. The show continued to be lucrative for Los Angeles–based ORIGINAL USA.

Star Wars and Pokémon were huge this season for wholesaler/distributor Rex Distributor Inc., based in the City of Industry, Calif., for licensed tees specializing in music and pop culture.

“We produce in mass quantities and work with big customers that come to this show,” said Max Muyal, sales, Lagaci in Pompano Beach, Fla. One of the popular items from this coastally inspired collection is a hoody, short and jogger set with drawstring, distressed look and Laguna Beach branding.

The vintage reproductions of the burlap flower sack with original prints in shirts, dresses and overalls is super-hot for Seattle-based Evergreen Guardian Imports, Inc.

“This is my first trip to Las Vegas. I love it, the price point is great, I’ve already written a couple orders,” said Lori Belair of Modern Closet in Port Arthur, Texas.

“I’m seeing really smart buyers and boutique owners using different strategies around their sales racks these days, and it includes OFFPRICE,” said Emilie Lewis, vice president of events for the Las Vegas Marketplace.
