TRADE SHOW

Classics, Denim and Golf at PROJECT

Men’s contemporary, classic, golf, performance and street collections were featured at PROJECT by Informa, held in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center Aug. 10–12.

“Men shop for a purpose—flowy, linen and crochet resort pieces are selling well for Spring,” said Gilles Suetens, national sales manager at Los Angeles–designed Civil Society. The solid-linen camp shirt and short set was a popular item.

“Men embraced the playful and the whimsy; cargo and utility pants were here to stay; and we’re seeing nods with the World Cup happening in different sports in an elevated, sophisticated, preppy way,” said Emilie Lewis, vice president of events for the Las Vegas Marketplace.

Golf brands included Devereaux Golf, the Original Penguin and Flag & Anthem, which celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Anchor denim brands included Ed Hardy, True Religion and Von Dutch.

New York–based Cult of Individuality presented a unisex Lenny boot-cut in a nutmeg wash with hand brushing and painting to give a DYI feel, a double coin pocket with selvage taping and studded front pocket.

The slim-fit biker jean with knee patch from G-Star in Amsterdam fit the bill with a rich amount of seam detail.

Family-owned Anom, based in Memphis, Tenn., offered fashion-core skinny jeans with color washing and distressed detailing. “It gives a good, comfy stretch that guy is looking for,” said Abdallah Ibrahim, owner.
