WWIN Provides a Wealth of Inspiration

Comfort, color and prints could be found throughout the show floor at Womenswear in Nevada, held Aug. 9–12 and colocated with ANDMORE’s Las Vegas Apparel at The Expo at World Market Center.

Buyers were writing orders for everything from classics to ethereal apparel and accessories. Trend displays featured effortless luxury inspired by coastal living from the Mediterranean to American style and modern romance with soft femininity reimagined for everyday wear.

Global fashion and lifestyle brand ELLE made its debut at WWIN with the ELLE Design Collective in New York bringing the “Parisienne” look, style and confidence to the U.S. market. “We collaborated with designers in Paris and New York to create very curated capsules for the American woman shopping specialty stores who wants that little French wink!” said Praxie Alegria, senior vice president of design for the Elle Design Collective.

Color Me Cotton, made in Los Angeles, presented a drapey, machine-washable, double-gauze “funky skirt” that looked like a barrel pant with front pockets.

With distribution out of San Diego, IPNG Design wowed buyers with its bejeweled poly, silk, Lycra and viscose printed illusional pant and bomber jacket sets made to look like denim. “It blew out my store, and I have people already wanting the reorders. The fabric, design, the comfort are so unique—it’s a showstopper,” said Elizabeth Amireh, owner of the Vita Boutique in Hartville, Ohio.

New York–based Young Threads featured a Desert Dream cloud pant with an extremely wide-leg boot cut with tiered lace made in shades of ivory and latte.

“WWIN is an order-writing show known for its hospitality. Our goal is to get the right buyers here to connect with the brands, and I think we’ve really succeeded in doing that,” said Katy Welch, senior marketing manager for Clarion Events.
