'08 Forecast: Trend-Spotting in Las Vegas, San Diego

From bohemian maxi dresses to frenetic graphic-patterned hoodies, there were styles to be found in every category and for every customer at the recent trade shows in Las Vegas and San Diego. Buyers had plenty of new styles and new lines to choose from at the MAGIC Marketplace, Project Global Trade Show, Pooltradeshow and United Trade Show in Las Vegas, held Aug. 26-30, and the Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo and Agenda trade show, held Sept. 7-9 in San Diego. The first edition of S(eco)nd at Pooltradeshow and the second run of the Global E.C.O. Show at the ASAP Global Sourcing Show, both in Las Vegas, offered a new crop of designers who proved that eco-friendly can be fashion-forward. Designers added a new take on dresses with bold color, graphic prints and inspiration from decades past.
