New York Spring '08 Forecast
The forecast for Spring has a sunny outlook as color pops to the forefront of fashion. At the recent Fashion Coterie, Designers and Agents, The Train and Platform 2 trade shows, held Sept. 15-20 in New York, the palette ranged from bold primaries to electric neon shades. Spring also marks the movement toward a focus on modern design. Lifestyle trends usher in a new focus on leisurewear and sportswear, and advances in technology inspire a trend toward high-tech garments and treatments. Styles included everything from boyish silhouettes with an undertone of androgyny to ultra-feminine romantic dresses with sheer fabrics. The '70s are back in full force, and '80s nostalgia offers new shapes for the season. Here is a look at the Spring trends from the trade-show floors in New York.
