...High Surf and Strong Rip Currents through this evening...
.South swells from what is now Post Tropical Cyclone Fabio will
create high surf along south and southwest facing beaches of
Orange and northern San Diego Counties through tonight. In
addition to the surf, strong rip and longshore currents will make
swimming hazardous. Swell and surf will gradually subside this
weekend.
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT THIS
EVENING...
* Surf...5 to 8 FT along south and southwest facing beaches of
Orange and northern San Diego Counties, with occasional sets 10
FT at favored locations in Orange County. Surf south of Carlsbad
will be around 2 to 4 ft with local sets to 5 FT, but strong
longshore currents will be hazardous to swimmers in these areas.
The surf has peaked and will be trending lower this afternoon.
* Timing...Through this evening.
* Impacts...Dangerous swimming conditions due to the presence of
large breaking waves, strong rip currents and longshore
currents.
