Rejoice, denim lovers. American Rag Cie founder Mark Werts said Oct. 5 that he plans to open seven World Denim Bar boutiques. The next one is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2010. He planned to build the premium jeans boutiques in different California locales in the next two years.
Werts is bullish on opening the World Denim Bars because jeans have been one of the top performing categories at his businesses during the past year. Also, the real estate market has been tipped in the favor of retailers in the past year. “I never had more real estate offered to me in my life, under favorable conditions too,” he said.
World Denim Bar debuted October 2006 on 160 La Brea Ave. in Los Angeles. This bar serves up 73 jeans brands and 20 SKUs for each brand.
