Prada Will Open Beverly Center Boutique

Prada is on the move. As reported in the April 23 issue of California Apparel News, the iconic Italian fashion house will open a 5,070-square-foot store at South Coast Plaza on May 4. In August, Prada will open a store in Los Angeles’ Beverly Center, according to SusanVance, the luxury retail center’s marketing and sponsorship director.

Prada will move into a space located on Beverly Center’s seventh floor. Prada’s Beverly Center address will be located in a space that until February housed a Dior boutique. Prada’s New York headquarters did not reply to request for comment for this blog.

Beverly Center also is upping the ante for its bouquet of heritage luxury boutiques. A Fendi store is scheduled to open at the West Los Angeles mall in August. Also during summer 2010, the Beverly Center’s DG store will expand its square footage. With these high marquee announcements, Vance explained that Beverly Center remains committed to its mission of being a retail center for every shopper. “We’re creating diversity,” Vance said. “People buy at all spectrums, and we have everything from HM to Forever 21. It’s going to be great to offer everything under one roof.”
