New Connected Showroom Takes It to the Street

After more than two years of doing business on the 12th floor of The New Mart, Steeve Bohbot took his Connected International Sales Showroom to the street. It is now housed at a storefront at 846 S. Los Angeles St. It means Connected can be accessed directly from the street, and, yes, that is a bit uncommon for a showroom.

Bohbot hopes his unique real estate choice can be mentioned with the phrases “best of both worlds” and “having his cake and eating it too.” The showroom is connected to the stylish Cooper Design Space building. Bohbot hopes the novel space will attract both buyer traffic wandering around the Cooper and street traffic from boutique owners making their way to other the fashion district’s other showroom buildings.

For Connected, of course a new showroom means new fashion lines. For the Summer '10 market, which started Jan. 15, Connected is debuting line V-Moda, a music-inspired lifestyle-line owned by the V-Moda headphone company. It features fetish-inspired pants, biker jackets and

jackets that can also be used as corsets.

Also at Connected are bikinis from classic surf line Maui and Sons, jewelry with a street edge by Han Cholo and new styles by The Dumb Experiment, Money Laundry, Kid Dangerous, Cube, Jimmy Taverniti, Hollywood Vain and Rock Icon.

Connected will be inviting the street into the showroom when it hosts a showroom-warming party from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16. All buyers and fashion people are invited. For more information, visit Connected’s Facebook page.
