Ed Hardy Fans, Get Ready for Ana.M Design

Ana.M Design boutique

Sipped an Ed Hardy energy drink? Banished foul odors with an Ed Hardy air freshener? You have Regis Mijatovic to thank for these products.

Mijatovic, a friend of Ed Hardy owner Christian Audigier, holds the licenses for the energy drinks, the air fresheners and lighters bearing the graphics of Ed Hardy tattoos and graphics. Now Mijatovic plans to make a splash with his own line, called Ana.M Design.

The Ana M. Designs store debuted May 6 at 7729 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, just a block or so east of the compound of Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier flagship stores. Like Ed Hardy, Ana M. offers men’s and women’s T-shirts, outerwear, blinged-out caps, and air-fresheners. However, there is a new Ana.M angle.

There are no Ed Hardy-style tattoos here. Ana.M products bear the art of Anthony Noble, a French kid whose oeuvre is heavily influenced by comics, fine art and graffiti. For Ana.M’s first collection, Noble’s graphics featured menacing clowns as well as skulls with anarchy and dollar signs. At the Ana.M party next door, go-go girls gyrated and a juggler entertained. Party!
