La Brea's Fashion Comeback

Case Study Unholy Matrimony boutique

It’s been an awful couple of years for Los Angeles’ La Brea Boulevard, one of the hardest hit retail streets during the Great Recession.

More than five fashion boutiques shuttered in the months proceeding the Wall Street meltdown of 2008. Things still look tough. Empty storefronts pockmark this long street, but high fashion will make a splash there Sept 30.

One of La Brea’s newest boutiques Case Study Unholy Matrimony, 138-140 S. La Brea Blvd., will be producing a soiree for its designers with an avant garde edge such as Odyn Vovk, UnderCover, Hussein Chalayan, Plein Sud, Anne Valerie Hash and Unholy Matrimony, which is designed by boutique co-owner Brett Westfall.

Instead of the closing at 7 PM, the boutique will be open until 10 PM, some drinks will be served, and party goers also can check out the sculpture and paintings of Susan Weller. Westfall said the boutique would also serve as an art gallery. Any questions? Contact the store at 323-932-0899.
